A short ride this day but as you'll see from the elevation gain, we got a lot of bang for the buck:
http://www.steephill.tv/galleries/2005/crouzette-portel/
enjoy.
I'm thinking that if you are going to post here and say "photos" you ought to include photos.
If you are just going to post a link than say link. And why post it here several hours after you posted it to the General forum?
Perhaps if you posted a couple of photos to give everyone a sample of what you are linking to it might feel a little more like you are involved with the forum.....

Why does it matter whether I say "Photos" or "Link to Photos"? You can tell whether I have photos in my message based on whether there is a camera icon beside the message in the list view. Readers say they like the posts a lot. One even called the Day 2 Soulor-Ausbisque post the "best ever on the forum".

When I started posting on RoadBikeReview I wasn't cross posting. But, readers would occasionally indicate a message should also be posted to another forum. There are so many forums on RoadBikeReview, I don't see the problem in cross-posting to an extra one. Judging by my recent postings, people are reading and responding on multiple forums. It's too bad the RoadBikeReview doesn't support aliasing for posts that are applicable to more than one forum.

I read RoadBikeReview at least several times a week and find it one of best forums on the Internet. I'm on the Commuting and Touring forum now to contribute some photos to "Ride Report -- Seattle S. Lake Washington Loop" thread.
Are you really criticizing me because I have a better (less convoluted) way of posting and organizing photos and stories?

MB1's not criticizing you, he's making a suggestion in a reasonable way.
I can see you have allot of heart and soul poured into your internet site, so any remark that is not praise may "feel" like a critical one. I'm one step removed from that and don't see MB1s remarks as all that cutting.
What you don't seem to understand is WHY MB1 would even say such a thing. MB1 is the volunteer moderator of this forum (commuting & touring). Scrool down to the bottom of this post and you'll see that he's the only one in the moderator box on the members on-line box. As moderator he has a role in making this one the "best forums on the Internet". He's making a suggestion on improving the RBR member experience here on RBR, not calling yours a bad post, or you a bad person.
I would suggest that when others have recommended that you post in another forum they were not suggesting you cross post, they were recommending you post in another forum and NOT in the one they were responding in at the time.
Nice stuff on your site, looks like a great trip.

Here are the two forums I cross-posted to:
General Discussion: "General discussions and Ride and Race Reports"
Commuting and Touring: "Around the block or around the world"
It's not clear to me which one I should be posting to. Is it clear to you? I'm sure a lot of contributors have the same problem. If I just post to the General Discussion then readers my not find it among the heavy traffic on that forum and/or it may scroll off between visits. The Commuting and Touring forum is more focused but it has about a 1/5 of the viewers as General Discussion. The views my posts get on each forum, since I started cross-posting, are in portion to the number of viewers on each forum which seems to imply that they are applicable to both. RoadBikeReview.com has over 50 bike related forums so I don't see the big deal in posting to one extra forum.
Regarding, including photos directly in my post. If viewers think that would add value to my post then I guess I should do it. In the past I've found attaching photos slow and error prone and you can't add descriptions for each photo. (Adding photos with descriptions by replying to myself seems like a hack.) When I tested attaching a photo yesterday I received a server error during the upload. The other option for including photos in a post for this forum is using the IMG tag, but since it requires linking to files on my web site anyway what's the point in doing double the work? Debating whether I say "Photos" or "Link to Photos" in the subject title seems a little petty. In general, people are always including external-links in their RBR posts...external-links is what makes companies like Yahoo! so successful.
You are right that the moderators must be doing a good job because RBR is a good site!
cheers.
