last week I was in Denton visiting some family and managed to squeeze in two morning rides at Grapevine on my old Bridgestone MB0

I haven't ridden there for a few years - but it seems the western (between Twin Coves and Sneaky Pete's) part of the trail is just getting even more difficult/technical - is that an accurate impression or is it because of the dry weather?

enjoyed the ride - but it took alot of concentration and slow speed technical riding (the MB0 is fully rigid) - lots of wheel lifting and flicking

mmmmm Lake Grapevine.... :)

I've been riding that place for 6 yrs now. It's where I first started mountain biking. Sad this is, they reeeally "tamed" the trail by leveling and smoothing out much of the hazardous sections. Nonetheless, it's still a fun place to ride.

so you think it's actually less technical than it usedd to be? I'd thought the trail work was solely about trail maintenance/erosion etc. rather than smoothing out the hazards

I started riding the trail in high school 1988 and continued through the end of college 1993 - back once a year at least for more regular rides - it seems to be getting more difficult?
