Watch Out for That Tree!!
Part of my commute is (sometimes) the Great River State Trail. This morning, about 1/4 mile from my turn off onto the La Crosse City Trail, my lights picked out something...new.
A huge tree, lying right across the trail. I managed to get by, but it took some interesting hand-carrying.
We had winds this weekend up to about 50 MPH that blew in cold air (29F this morning) and the trails/roads are covered with branches. This one, though, was the biggest I've ever seen. I called Wisconsin DNR this morning--we'll see if they've cleared the tree by the time I head home!
