Looks like a heck of a deal. Even without the frame seems like you'd pay that much just for the components. And it looks like a pretty nice mix of components too.

Anyone have any comments about this frameset??

Thanks,
Jay

I think they are made by TST, who has a good rep.

Check out the Litespeed Firenze. Price is $2000 for a titanium frame and Ultegra components. You can find them at your local Litespeed dealer. No need to go through the mail order hassle.

The Douglas Fusion has an aluminum frame. I don't know who makes it. They claim it is made in the USA.

The Douglas Precision has a titanium frame. That is made by TST.

$1600 for a U.S. made Easton 7005 Ultralight frame with Reynolds carbon stays and fork, Ultegra componants, FSA carbon crank, WCS/EA70 cockpit, and Velomax wheels... from a reputable distributer like Colorado Cyclist.... HOLY COW!!!!

I've been curious about this deal for some time and have been watching your thread with intrest. I'm surprised you haven't had any first hand feedback.

Assuming this is your first real road bike, I don't see how you could go wrong with it... what's the worst that could happen... you don't like the free frame that came with your $1600 worth of high quality parts... so you ride it a while and save up for a different frame.

Aluminum frame made in the US?

My bet is on these guys... http://www.kinesis.com.tw/

Thei US plant is in Oregon and cranks out frames for a bunch of bike companies.

This bike has better components than Cannondale's $2399 R-2000. That's an $800 difference, and I would still have to pay sales tax on the C'dale another $200 or so.
The frameset would REALLY have to suck to be worth a thousand dollar difference. I bet I could buy the bike and part it out on E-bay for a big proffit. That's not a bad idea.
