View Full Version : Grizzly bear not endangered any more
moneyman 11-16-2005, 09:51 AM In a rousing story of success, the Grizzly Bear in the Yellowstone ecosystem, has been nominated for removal from the list of endangered species. http://www.mtstandard.com/articles/2005/11/16/newsstate/hjjeiiidjcgdhj.txt
Naturally, eco groups oppose this action, saying that the bear has not recovered sufficiently. However, they have a vested interest in the bear remaining on the list as it is very helpful in their begging for money from gullible do-gooders.
The bears will be managed by wildlife agencies from Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. They won't be hunted or allowed to be shot on sight. Nobody wants them to disappear. They are magnificent, dangerous animals that are a tribute to the efforts of multiple agencies all wroking toward a common goal, that of the growth of the Yellowstone grizzly population.
MR_GRUMPY 11-16-2005, 10:05 AM I'm glad that the Dem's stopped Bush from melting those Grizzly's down for their oil. Thank god.

.Gullible do-gooder...nice. Good...your learning indicting the eco groups. Nice...
Here is something to chew on...
This is just another money grubbing land grab to screw the bear so that they can take their habitat and strip mine it for oil and gas...just spit balling here, but when you have a protected species you have a protected habitat...MORE ROADS TO NOWHERE!!!! DEFOREST!!!! I hear that Half Dome has oil in it...let's drill it and see.
Here is a quote from a typical nazi eco-terrorist....
But National Wildlife Federation senior wildlife biologist Sterling Miller, who spent 21 years studying grizzlies in Alaska and now lives in Montana, said the time has come to take Yellowstone's bears off the list.</NITF>
<NITF>"You can't immunize them against everything bad that can possibly happen," Miller said. "That's a prescription for a permanent listing."
It is just a trap...she or he is going to strap itself to a grizzly to make a point.!!!

/one ticket to hell please.
atpjunkie 11-16-2005, 10:34 AM habitat reduction for endangered species is down 79 plus percent in heaps of cases.
taking them off the list makes their habitat eaiser to lease to their pals.
kinda like wanting to add the #'s of hatchery salmon to the #'s of wild fish for same ends

You ARE going to hell for that one.
Count me as a gullible do-gooder. I used to respect you moneyman....Anyway, I heard hunting may be allowed. This might be a good thing since maybe the population would be managed for hunting. I also heard there were once 40,000 grizzlies in North America. I think it's sad that there are only about 600 left in Yellowstone. I'm very happy they have recovered, I just wish there was more habitat for them and there weren't conflicts with locals. This is a much more complex issue than can really be discussed here.

Out of curiosity, since you don't likely donate money to people like the Sierra Club, etc.....who do you donate to?
Care to share?

But I do not donate to them. That comes from a mountain biking conflict.
I don't tell people where my donations go, but I'll tell you this - I give plenty, both as a % of my income and in total, and I give to places that you probably wouldn't guess I give to.

I have no idea where you put your money. Well, if you donated to NAMBLA, I'd have an issue with that!

I saw an ad for the Salvation Army last night, looking for donations for the Katrina caine...
Went something like this.....
(Picture, ravaged Gulf Coast)
...When acts of (destruction) Nature, require acts of God (mercy, charity)
Where do they get off? If God's hand is divining me to donate to help, didn't it also have something to do with the disaster? Perfect seperation of responsibility of the deity. What a crock. Sorry if you like the group, that ad is in poor form.

CalTrout and Trout Unlimited rock! Did you see the piece in the U-T last week about steelhead? (Actually, it might have been the Times) Worth reading.
atpjunkie 11-17-2005, 10:45 AM the dead zone right? yes have seen it. Yes, SoCal Steelhead but are in Big Trouble as one of their last streams runs through Camp P. so the military is gonna pull 'National Security". Sad thing is, it is supposedly these Southern Steelies that populated the entire west with Rainbow trout / Steelhead stock. they are supposed to be 'root strain'.
didn't see that add but that'sBS agreed. C'Mon folks an act of nature is an act of god, check your insurance. So you can't not blame Him for the damage by calling it an act of nature unless you don't adhere to omnipotence/omniscience of God.
Gonna have to donate less to them.
