This North Texas wind has been a killer lately.
Some days, I meet it with an eager competitiveness. Sunday, I turned into a 30mph gust, heading up a long, slow climb, laughed and said, "Is that all you've got?"
Today, however, was not Sunday.
Ugh.

I cheated on Sunday, I just did not want to deal with the wind. I rode over to Preston Rd/289 and pointed the bike north! When I hit hwy 56 I just called my wife and asked her to come get me.
I'd done 69 miles the day before training for the MS ride coming up and my legs were dead.

I'm jealous, though. That sounds like the way to do it. My wife - wonderful though she is - would probably just tell me to suck it up and pedal home. She's a runner, so we have the occasional "which is harder" debates. (No question - running is. I hate running. But I always maintain that cycling is harder when either wind or hills are involved.)
I had a great ride Sunday, but negotiated myself into "triathlon drill" yesterday. 17 miles of biking, followed by a short run. Felt lousy overall. Today is MTB day, so that should be fun.
