ZGCO Dave_Stohler 04-20-2004, 09:44 PM Hmm....new poster.......1 post.......could it be a schill?? pugdog1 04-21-2004, 02:54 AM I'd say this is a very primative form of laying down the base for a SCAM! Everyone is suspect, my dad has owned a car dealership for 26 years, I have seen them all. zgco 04-21-2004, 06:54 AM I purchased a wheelset for Javi - payment via paypal - prompt shipment - 100% satisfied - my HIGHEST recommendation. ZGCO Of course, everyone has reason to be skeptical - life is all about weighing probability. I have over 500 positive feedback on ebay (no negative - ebay user name is: zgco) so I have run across my share of scams as well. I submitted payment to Javi via Paypal. Javi is a verifed member meaning that both his address is confirmed with Paypal and that for an additional fee Paypal will offer buyer protection (see www.paypal.com for details). I would not have completed the transaction if Javi had not been a verified Paypal member. I did take a chance in not purchasing the buyer protection insurance, but from my correspondence with Javi, I thought that it was a chance worth taking and I am a little cheap; otherwise, I would have purchased the wheelset from Jenson - everyone likes a deal. Javi asked me to post some feedback so that is what I did. I have posted on mtbr.com before, but this is the first time that I have ever purchased an item from the classified section of mtbr. It is great that this forum exists, it would be better if something like ebay's feedback forum could be implemented at some juncture. Cheers, zgco. Dave_Stohler 04-22-2004, 11:18 AM Well, just like on Ebay-a person with zero feedback has zero credibility. I've used Ebay for years, and I have never gone out of my way to leave feedback like you have. A positive response on Ebay should be enough. Coming over here, registering, posting, then checking responses smell damn fishy to me. Just what is your motivation? zgco 04-22-2004, 12:52 PM Well, just like on Ebay-a person with zero feedback has zero credibility. I've used Ebay for years, and I have never gone out of my way to leave feedback like you have. A positive response on Ebay should be enough. Coming over here, registering, posting, then checking responses smell damn fishy to me. Just what is your motivation? It is very simple, REALLY, let me try to explain: 1. I purchased the wheelset off the mtbr.com classified section; NOT ebay. If I had purchased the wheeleset on ebay, I OBVIOUSLY would not have posted this reply on mtbr.com, and, as you suggest, feedback left on eBay would have sufficed. 2. I had a good transaction with Javi, he asked me to leave some feedback for him, and this is what I have done. 3. The forum is titled "good trader - bad trader" (not just bad trader): we all have to start of somewhere; even YOU had 0 posts at one time. If you purchase from Javi or any other seller for that matter, feel free to leave postive feedback, negative feedback, or no feedback at all. 4. I was under the impression that this forum was for ALL, Dave, please let me know if I have done something wrong by posting my experience with Javi and I will not do it again as I certainly have no intention of receiving the wrath of long-standing members like yourself. 5.I am going out of my way to post here because essentially you are questioning my integrity and this is something that, at least for me, is worth defending. Cheers. masqvende 04-24-2004, 08:35 AM Well, just like on Ebay-a person with zero feedback has zero credibility. Dave, Why are you harrassing people who are using this forum for the purpose for which it was intended? This forum exists to let others know about the trading experiences had with members of the MTBR.com & Roadbikereview.com community. Have you or someone you know had a bad trading experience with myself that I'm unaware of? I have been a member of this community for over two years now. I have never had any bad experience with any of my customers and I'm sure you cannot proove otherwise. So please, the next time you see positive feedback for me, and you will, do not harrass the people leaving it as you will only be doing this forum a unwanted harmful service. Get out and ride more! Javier Gomez ( MASQVENDE@HOTMAIL.COM) ps. HERE'S A LINK TO THE OLD GOOD TRADER/BAD TRADER FORUM WITH SOME MORE FEEDBACK ON MY TRANSACTIONS: http://forums.consumerreview.com/crforum?14@237.pcV3aOHOVNP.1@.efe27a2 Dave_Stohler 04-25-2004, 04:52 PM I'm sorry, but it just looked fishy to me. I guess you answered my question. He was prompted by you to go out of his way to leave feedback. Don't get your knickers in a twist. In my work, I often deal with vendors, and I'm always on the lookout for scams. This post raised several flags in my mind. Despite youre personal feelings, I still find it odd that somebody would go to all this trouble to leave such hyperbole-laden praise over a simple component deal. Maybe I'm not the only one? FWIW, scammers have operated on the RBR classifieds before. I'm sure MTBR classifieds have experienced scammers as well. Maybe you wouldn't be so annoyed if you had been the victim of a scam. From my perspective, I'm leery of any feedback on Ebay (or other places) that contains lot of exclamation points, over-wrought praises like "A++++", and other such stuff. If by any chance you are telling the buyers what to post in the way of praise, perhaps you should tone it down a bit. |
