I thought Thomson made the Elite in a 450mm at one point, but according to there website, they don't make that size. Longest is a 410mm.

FSA makes a 420mm in a few models (the FR-200 and FR-270) in a 27.2mm diameter.

A bunch of manufacturers make 400-410mm, but I don't know of any that make a 450mm. That's really long. What's it for?

no doubt 45cm is very long, im looking at at 410mm thomson post right now and I cant imagine needing another 4cm. if you need a post that long maybe the bike is to small. just a thought

I have a compact frame with the cyclocross style sizing; short seat tube verses longer by 2 cm top tube. Is your frame a compact or do you have the wrong size frame? Is this for a unicycle or Bike Friday style frame?

FSA FR-200 & FR-270 posts are available in 420mm x 27.2. Those are the longest I know of.

You may need to go custom, e.g.: http://www.spicercycles.com/index.cgi?cat=2&sub_cat=Seat%20Post&prod_id=338&cat_desc=Road

an idea to remove a dent in a frame. The dent is about 44cm down from the seatpost collar.

How big is your dent?

27.2 mm is about 1.07 inches. You can get 1-inch tubing at your hardware store in any length that you need that might work for some of the dent. That tubing will likely be cheaper than buying a seat post.

I wouldn't bother trying to remove a dent, especially in this manner. The frame is already compromised to certain degree; punching out the dent risks cracking and further fatigue. If the frame is steel, it might be a little safer (fatigue less of an issue, cracking still a risk), but I wouldn't do it on an aluminum frame.

this dent you speak of isn't the (intended) dent for the front derailleur clamp that numerous frames have is it??
