View Full Version : So...why do so many of us respond to Steam?

Man's entitled to his opinion, and I'll defend to his death his right to express it. Taking the long view, though, responding to it doesn't seem productive. Sometimes I imagine him crouched down there in his mom's basement just wracking his brain for the next thing he can throw out, ticking off the responses as they come in.

Yeah, that is a personal attack all right.

"crouched down there in his mom's basement" is ad hom.

I sentence you to public display!

It could be because it takes so many of you to reasure yourselves after you are exposed to the truth. It can be so traumatic.

I thought of responding to Steam's thread and I still might. Seeing how every response is getting Steam's buzzer, it seems futile. It would require too much Googling and research to put together a response that would bowl Steam over and I've got a Saturday night ahead of me.

Say, perhaps you can come up with a good response for that thread.

Why yes, it is a personal attack. That said, for some reason I pictured him "wracking (http://www.transbuddha.com/mediaHolder.php?id=23)" something else in his mothers basement.

It rubs the lotion on its skin
or else it gets the hose again

It rubs the lotion on its skin
or else it gets the hose again,
yes precious, it gets the hose

I just posted a response. I figured I'd turn the game of "Get the Guest" around to "Humiliate the Host". :p

Quite frankly I don't know why so many do.

I'm not even sure why I'm spending this time to respond to the question or paying any attention to it.

Mostly because he's really reached way too far on too many occassions to seem relevent to me, at least. I get more from other's on the right than I do from this guy. He's just a pure apologist IMO.

BTW, where's bill105 got to?

When I check in here I usually read the posts from the brand names--OldED, Dr. Hoo, Fixed, Live Steam, Cory, and a very few others. Steam has made his brand name through volume of posts and by echoing Rush et al. He knows how to yank some chains and he'll exaggerate his own postions to get a response, and he takes the time to respond to responses.

Responding is like when you were younger and you had a scab, and your parents told you not to pick at it, but you couldn't resist. Mostly because it's itchy and you want it to be gone. Sort of like most of Steam's drive by cut and pastes. Those are also things that you want to be gone.
