Im thinking of building one up either single/fixed or 1x8 to use as a commuter with fat tires. too heavy for 20+ road miles? I commute on a Surly Cross-Check. I've used 35c tires with full fenders. You've got clearance. How fat are you gonna go? The monkey would be the right choice if you wanted a 29"er or disk brakes. Otherwise, it's overkill for commuting since they offer the Cross-Check and the Steamroller. Just my $.02 blackhat 04-26-2004, 07:26 PM and its great. but, I sometimes wish I had something I could ride stairs and other similair nonsense with. I wouldn't be running discs so the difference is just frame geometry. and about a pound of extra steel. maybe Ill throw some mutonoraptors and flat bars on the crosscheck for a bit first. |
