Frame is a 2005 Specialized Roubaix Elite carbon. The bottom bracket guide is so low profile (thin, snug against the frame) that the cables rub on the downtube/BB shell before they enter the plastic guide. Seems like I need a higher profile (thicker) guide, but this also has a "tail" that goes up through a hole in the frame to keep the FD cable from rubbing the the routing hole in the carbon frame, so a generic won't do it. Anyone else had a similar problem? Any solutions? Seems like a design flaw by Specialized.

i just picked up a new cable guide for my E5.. the LBS sold me one in a trek package, and it seems to do the trick. i don't think you are limited to a specialized part.

Aside from getting some advice from your LBS, would a thin spacer between your frame and the guide help?
