1st time that I'm doing BIKE NEW YORK........And there calling for scattered thunderstorms..... to bad I payed my regisrtation already, I should have waited, don't think I even want to go know.... 39 bucks wasted..Just have to get that off my chest... anyone else doing this ride?

Its only rain and a little electricity! I've ridden in storms before. Its a bit of a rush.

Rain or shine. Hot or cold.
Rain sucks but you can't let you prevent you from riding. It's one of those things you can't avoid, like death and taxes.
Too many days off = muscle atrophy = getting left off the back

In most cases the conditions are more condusive to riding then if the weather
The course is controlled abd im sure most riders will be riding accordenly.

We have a little saying in our club.
If you didn't ride every time they said it was going to rain and you didn't ride every time it actually rained, you wouldn't ride too much.
Ride it.

Lightning Bad . . . we rode the ironman century in Minnesota last weekend and were spit upon by the clouds for about 2 hours. Fantastic ride!!

I'm riding it. My girlfriend who hasn't ridden since last summer is riding it. Don't be a wuss and ride it. I't just a little rain. Be careful on the bridges and you'll be OK. If worse comes to worse, there are plenty of subway stations to get you home if you wuss out before the end. BUT, with that hour and change wait for the ferry at the end in SI, I may even consider dumping the tail end.
