Not half a block from where I am sitting right now is a post office.

A person, ex employee from two years ago, went in there and shot 6 people dead and then themself. Crazy.

why post offices? seems to happen there way more than random chance. you'd think that changes would be made to address whatever causes these workers to snap so often? you don't hear of many UPS or Fedex employees doing the same.

We were in SD this weekend and had our mail stopped. In typical USPS fashion, they did not hold our mail and just kept right on delivering it. After hearing this story last night we were both glad neither of us complained to our mail carrier.

Flip I can't seem to get details on which post office this was. Did this happen at the Patterson Ave. post office or the Hollister Ave. one?

No, it was the giant sorting plant in Goleta. (I know, I know, "sorting plant" isn't what those drug crazed, gun toting men and women in light blue actually call the place, but you get my drift.)

Hmm so maybe it's somewhere near the airport.

The sort facility is just outside IV, a huge 200,000 sq ft building. I just got off the phone with my aunt who is a school librarian down in Goleta. Charlotte Colton, the woman who passed away this morning, was a good friend of hers and my aunt and uncle are crushed. She left behind three children who all go to my aunt's school and are her favorite students. It's just so wrong on so many levels. I'm sure all the gun fans on this site will counter the threads that are sure to develop by dusting off their precious 2nd amendment rights while spouting off about being responsible gun owners. I just don't have the stomach to argue with them anymore.
