I know that this grouppo was around during the mid 80's bike boom, but really have no idea of what it's modern day equivelent would be. I am guessing Sora or Tiagra but hoping 105 or Ultegra. But I think that the Sante grouppo would be more likely to fit into that catagory. Just curious.

Probably below 105 but there is nothing wrong with the Exage group. I still have a bike that uses the componets. They still work great after 18 years....... My only complaint is the cranks are very heavy...

Close to Sora
105 was around then, with swaged cranks, so you can imaging how low grade it was.
