What's a reasonable torque value for a stem handlebar bolt?. I am fixing a Deda 215 bar to a steel ITM quill stem (one bolt, old-school non-removable faceplate). Thanks in advance

You can also check the stem manufacturer's website and see if they post recommended torque settings. Many do. Al1943 03-18-2006, 05:16 PM Check with Deda. I would guess at about 8 nm. Best not to guess. Al the bull 03-18-2006, 05:23 PM Just tighten it down snug so the bar wont slip. I have never used a torque wrench on a quill stem, those bolts are huge! |
