Are there any training/group rides that meet during the week in south fort worth? How about long weekend rides?

Thanks,
Bret

There is a group that meets behind the Benbrook YMCA near the ball fields at 6pm every Tuesday & Thursday. They're pretty hard-chargers & ride about 30+ miles.

Several rides. Sorry I would have posted sooner, but I don't go to this forum often.

Links for these rides are included:

The Rusty Chain gang meets on South Hulen off Columbus Trail. Those Octagenarians kick some serious butt. Very nice guys, I learned quite a bit from them when I first started riding. Most of them are FWBA members, but you can just show up and ride with them. The ride is on Tuesday and starts at 9am sharp! They usually go out for lunch afterwards as a group. IIRC, the ride is anywhere from 30-50 miles depending on who shows up.

I think they also ride on Thursdays and meet at the Benbrook YMCA. Never done that ride, but it seems to be the same group of poeple.

Panther City Bicycles on Magnolia (South of downtown- wasn't sure what you consider South Fort Worth) has a Monday night shop ride. Starts at either 1800 or 1830, you might call and check since the time change, and they go south around Benbrook lake. Usually ends up being anywhere from 25-40 miles. Again depends on who shows up and what everyone feels like doing. On Sundays I think they still do a shop ride that starts at either 0800 or 0900 and they usually do between 50-70 miles. If you're interested, give them a call and they'll hook you up.

Last, but not least, LMRA (Lockheed Martin Recreation Area) has a cycling club that meets several times during the week. I've ridden with many of those guys and they are pretty good guys. I don't think you have to be a member for all the rides, but you should call them and check it out if you're interested. They are a very active club and Jim is a good guy.

I know there are more that I am missing, but that will get you started.

Good Luck!
