Question: Last year I found a retro 7-Eleven jersey but have been unable to find a retro Motorola jersey. Does anyone know if they even exist ?

Thx

They come up on e-bay all the time. The problem is that there are always highty motivated buyers so they end up being really pricey. I'd like to snag one to wear while riding my Motorola MX-Leader ; ). Maybe that's a bit to posey, but I can't help myself.

The Motorola jersey is harder to come by because Giordana hasn't made them for a few years (almost 10 now.) However, last year Descente, upon returning to the US market, re-issued the old 7-11 jersey, so they are easier to find. Now, a fun one to try to find is an old Giordana Motorola World's Jersey.... find one of those on ebay and it will likely sell for over $200.

Except that they sell out as soon as they are released, and so far they've done one run a year. They were in our (Performance) catalog once this year, and they were gone in days.

IMHO, there is a big market for retro jerseys. I really wish some manufacturer would set up and produce them. La Vie Claire jerseys sell for $100 on Ebay all the time. I'd like to see retro jerseys in new fabrics...

... so I guess the best bet is to stay on the lookout and check if a Motorola is reissued (as with my 7-Eleven).

Thx folks for the replies. :)

Last time I talked with a sales rep at Gita (Giordana distributor) they said that they had no plans to reissue any old jerseys. I think it has to do with sponsor concerns... they most likely would have to pay out royalties. But that said, I have no idea how Descente is reissuing the 7-11 jersey unless their former contract with the team and sponsors gave them the rights to the actual jersey and it's design. That could be one way they are able to still sell it. If I get around to it, I may ask the Gita guys again if there is a reason like that, keeping them from reissuing the jersey.

I just scored one at a used gear store in Seattle. It's in good condition and only set me back $34.95.
