Seattle, WA/Milan, IT - Full Speed Ahead is proud to announce its partnership with Skoda to launch a mobile tech support program. This European based initiative showcases the agility and reliability of Skoda automobiles and FSA’s expertise and strong presence in high level bicycle racing.
FSA European managing director, Claudio Marra explained that the program will be operated by GRUPPO SERVIZI TECNICI SPORTIVI, support mechanics well known in the European racing scene. Many are former mechanics and staff of professional teams, who continue to put their skills to the service of competitive cycling. The program consists of 11 cars with a full complement of support materials. A busy season is planned with 150 races from March through October.
The launch reception was held at FSA’s Milan offices and featured numerous Italian cycling celebrities including Ivan Basso, Ernesto Colnago, Felice Gimondi, Francesco Moser, Renato di Rocco (President of the Italian Federation), and Franco Ballerini (Federation Technical Commissoner). The European cycling press, of course, was present in force.
Full Speed Ahead is a young company making a variety of high end bicycle components. FSA is well known for its maverick attitude; solid presence in Asia, North America, and Europe; and strong competence in advanced materials. Many competitors and teams depend upon their products World wide. Skoda, part of the VW group, is the official auto supplier to the Tour de France. Interestingly enough, Skoda was started in 1894 by a bookseller and a mechanic who began a workshop to repair bicycles.
