View Full Version : McCain to give the Commencement at Liberty University???
spyderman 04-02-2006, 05:50 AM He has lost total credibility. In his attempt to court the 37% who still suppport Bush, he has abandonded his own base. Didn't his mother teach him not to try to catch falling knives? He doesn't realize that a good portion of the 37% will not support McCain. Which means he needs to make up at least 20% while he alienates the moderates.
I've lost total respect for the man.
Snakebit 04-02-2006, 06:05 AM His problem hasn't ever been that he was too hardline. He understands that moderation isn't going to win him the nomination. If he wants to be President, his only chance is to appeal to the Republican base, not the people on either edge. The Republican base isn't all that liberal or what you call moderate. Personally, I don't think he has a snowballs chance, he can't reinvent the wheel, he is who he is.
rocco 04-02-2006, 06:09 AM Don't you guys know there's this awsome bike race going on in Flanders right at this very moment?

He has lost total credibility... I've lost total respect for the man.
Agree completely. I liked the man once but it turns out he's nothing more than the GOP version of John Kerry.

This may be so but who's going to beat him? Himself? That still requires another candidate who can beat him.
Jeb #44? ;) :D :) :o :(
Snakebit 04-02-2006, 07:34 AM Then why are you here on the PO forum this morning?
Stones from glass houses?
odeum 04-02-2006, 09:04 AM today even a right wing war apologist can be seen as a moderate, so much has the right moved to reactionary mouth foaming extremism...
hence the term neo-conservative being so applicable to those under the influence of the fascist heads of state of the us.
are you sure it is not "libby" university he should be be attending as speaker?
He has lost total credibility.

The race ended hours ago. Some of us were following the race on cyclingnews.com and discussing it on the Pro forum. I couldn't help but notice you guys over here at the butt crack of the morning.
Snakebit 04-02-2006, 11:51 AM Well if you didn't like the smell, you wouldn't keep sticking your nose in the crack. ;)

Kerry never gave up his principles like this neo-con wh0re.
Kerry never flopped this hard. Kerry allowed himself to get swiftboated and couldn't come up with a response fast enough. It was obvious his team didn't plan for his controversial past to bite him in the arse. Probably cause the crap the swiftboaters threw at him wasn't even close to being true.
Kerry certainly was right about one thing, when he said "he'd never seen a dirtier bunch of crooks before."
Russert kicked McCain in his teeth today, and rightly so. The look on McCain's face was quite telling. He was listening to the sound of his moderate supporters jumping off the McCain train.
I guess McCain learned one thing from 2000, ethics and principles don't mean squat when it comes to courting the deluded neo-con right.
If a draft-dodging drunk, coke-head, college cheerleader, with two DUI convictions can become president, then ethics and principles be damned!

I was under the impression McCain was just gonna be "speaking" at Falwell's Liberty University and not giving the freakin' Commencement address. Talk about bending over and taking it square in the arse!
BTW, there's a bit of a difference between being exposed as a hypocrite on national tv and reading it in a blog.

I'm starting to see your point.
atpjunkie 04-03-2006, 10:53 AM of the guys he slammed in 2000. He called W a Robertson Republican, said Falwell and Robertson was not the route the GOP should take. This guy endured torture at the hands of the VC and sells that all out for a bid to be President. He chose he'drather be President than right, lame.
