I test rode the Velomax Ascent II, AD 400's and my own set of Open Pros with Record hubs on my bike and a set of Ksyriums on a friends bike. I did not strip everything off and weigh them but the weight was virtualy the same when holding them in my hand and I could not tell any difference in weight on the bike. All are nice wheels. Performance wise I found zero difference between the wheels. The OP did not spin up as fast as the other wheels of course that may be in my head. The biggest difference was the price. The AD 400's were quite a bit cheaper. I got a very good deal on them so thats the way I went. There is a review on cycling news but I disagree with most of what he said. They are not silent but not nearly as loud as my Record hubs. I also did not find them any more uncomfortable than any of the other wheels I tested. I can't speak to there durability but they perform as well as any of the wheels above and at a lot less money. |
