My 42c Maxxis Wormdrive tires have about 3-4 mm of clearence on each side of the chainstays, but when I am out of the saddle and climbing hard they rub just a little on the inside of the stay. I am pretty sure this is due to wheel flex as I can push the wheel over to touch the stay without too much force when it is in the stand. The wheels are Mavic speed city wheels in a Mtn Cycle Stumptown. The wheelset is new. Is that amount of flex "normal" in a Mavic wheel? The wheels on both my road and mountain bike are stiffer lateraly. Should I just throw them in the stand and tighten them up a 1/4 turn and true?
