I am looking to upgrade the wheelset on our tandem, and have always thought that a good wheelbuilder could/would do a better job than some boutique wheels. Usually someone you can talk to, ask questions of, and have them explain why the combination of components you want just won't acheive the results you are after. I have seen good reports here about Ligero, and would like to know if he has ever built any fairly lightweight wheelsets for Tandems. Our team is at 400 lbs including bike weight, by next year we will be at 340 lbs combined weight. It is for a Cannondale Road Tandem, so we are looking at disc brakes front and rear, something in an aero rim, and I am thinking 36h front and rear. Any suggestions?

I would contact Troy by way of website. (www.ligerowheels.com) He could best answer your question.

I spoke to Troy on the phone this morning. He is going to go through some ideas in his head, and find out some things for me, then send me an email with the details. Thanks.
