Any recommendations for nice everyday aero wheelset? Must be clincher and Shimano compatible. Priorities (in order) are:

1) Durability
2) Aerodynamics
.
.
.
3) Light weight and decent price

I'm looking for something with the durability of Ksyrium SLs but more aero. However, I don't want them weighing a ton more and/or costing a bundle.

How about some American Classic 420's, aero, pretty strong, lighter then the K's and a bit cheaper to boot. Oh, and fully customizable. I ordered my in the "cyclocross" version to make sure they were sturdy.

Check them out:

Fez, like Coolhand, I second the American Classic 420s. If you don't have an LBS that deals with them near you, I can order them for you and beat most mail order prices on them as well. Take a look at their website and figure out what build you need, then send me a PM here and I can get you a price quote if you would like me to.

i do my training as well as my racing on Shimano WH R-540 clinchers. they are fairly light, fairly aero, pretty stiff, and indestructible. i've hit potholes that look more like canyons than they do potholes, and these wheels are still perfectly true.
granted, i am 138lbs, but i love them.

if you want something spiffier, try the WH R-7701 wheelset from Shimano.

my next wheelset will be the 540s again, unless i can somehow afford the 7701s.

btw, i picked up my 540s for 249.99 at supergo.

With a DeepV you can go very low spoke count and still have a durable wheel. Not super deep section, but with the low spoke count you'll get pretty good aerodynamics with less sensitivity to cross winds. Make the spokes bladed, and you'll have a pretty good set up.

Uhhh, why would you want an aero wheel for everyday riding? You keep your speeds over 25-ish mph the whole time?

If you answered "no" to the question above, you don't really need aero wheels.

Whether you WANT aero wheels is another question...

If it is a WANT, then try some Ritchey Pro wheels. (WCS if you weigh less than 160#). I have a pair and like them. I've also built up a pair of Velocity Deep V/Am Classic/24hole wheels that worked real well.
