Better off looking at vittoria, they last alot longer. Michelins rubber compound is very soft and there wear life is way to short mate. JMO tring to save you some monies in the long run.

I got mine at Probikekit.com as well, great prices. I've got 1,500 KM on mine so far no flats and almost no signs of wear.

Same here ... I was able to get 3600 miles out of my last set of Pro Race tires. I bought a new set, but did recently put some Hutchinson Fusions on my new bike.

Probikekit.com, very cheap, no taxes and free shipping. Does it get better than that?

I replaced my rear one at 1200 miles.. it was turning in a rectangle. I thought my other rear tire last longer to 1500..

Performance Bikes specials only go to about $42 usually.

When the rear tire starts to square off, it is only half worn out. I don't replace mine until the rubber wears down to the cords.

that when the tire squares off it is much more likely to blow out at the sidewall. is this incorrect? my current tires are vitorria diamonte pro and they are pretty squared off after ~2000miles. i thought about getting the vitorrias again, but the LBS i shop at said they don't even carry them anymore due to complaints. i NEVER had a flat with mine....maybe i'm lucky (knock on wood). anyway, i went with the pro2races from probikekit.com...super cheap!

+1 I've placed two orders with ProBikeKit so far and have had no problems and items arrived 5 business days later both times. The prices are truly the best on many items!

yeah the vittoria tires have given me the best results to date, and the michelins nothing but wasted monies. maybe its just my bad luck or good fortune with vittoria. I used to ride huchinson but had issues with fast wear too.

I wear my rear tires down to the cords before I replace them. I have never had a blow out at the sidewall. Blow outs are caused by cord failure; that has nothing to do with how much rubber you have on the top of the tire.

Send an email to critusa@aol.com, and they'll send you a pricelist. They have Michelin ProRaces for about $35 and Carbons for $30, both with free shipping. Other brands of tires and tubes as well. Substantial discounts if you order multiple tires -- eg, 3 ProRace tires for $94 w/ free shipping.

What kind of tires are you using? Usually what happens to me is I get cuts in the tread and these lead to splits in the tread. Just wondering if you can ignore this with the tires you are using.

Michelin PR 2's don't really get worn down fast but they just get cut up so easily that I've thrown a couple of tires because of it.

The biggest asset of Michelins is low rolling resistance.

Grip is subpar at best.
