View Full Version : RBR bike lottery...
physasst 06-17-2006, 03:31 PM What do you guys think of an RBR bike lottery...have an online entry form with a fee of 10-20 dollars, take all the money submitted and have a lottery on a couple of nice bikes and maybe some gear?.....Gregg, Coolhand, Hoo, et al......any thoughts? I'd do it, it'd be kinda fun.
Humm. I've been itching fer a new ride. Cleaned out my garage of all my "extra" bikes. Time to "restock".:D

could even make it an annual thing..."The RBR annual bike and gear lottery".....Ohhhhh Gregggggg.
Knowing my luck, I'd prolly win a 1/2 gallon of Kerry Iron's homebrew chain lube:mad::mad2:

Is that code for something? :)
Coolhand 06-17-2006, 05:46 PM Sadly, it would probably be illegal in any of the 50 states due to the lottery laws. Even simple charity raffles in many states require registration.

We could give donations to RBR.
Who could then randomly distribute prizes to random people, not as a lottery or raffle, but as a... premium member perk!
Would that work?

Would that be worth more or less than a bike??
DeaconBlues 06-17-2006, 08:39 PM Perhaps we could have a fundraiser instead of a "lottery." The funds can go towards replacing the former Eastern Bloc war surplus server RBR is currently running on. Each of the new smilies took enough punch cards to fill a shoebox.
Put me in for $20.00 (USD even!) if the money goes for a faster RBR experience.
Deek

So make it a charity raffle and lure some bike company into GIVING AWAY one of it's finest products. RBR could advertise the raffle on other websites generating more traffic to please advertisers, a charity is happy collecting the proceeds and some RBR member is happy with a new Moots (for example). Everyone wins. :)

Ah, that explains why I love Canada......
deastin 06-18-2006, 11:36 AM I d be interested. I donated some parts back for one of the RBR BIke build ups about two years ago now, the only auctioned on Ebay, I think Dave Hickey was involved. Count me in.

Hey,
Speak for yourself  . Even better, run it from Sweden. I'm sure Bush's Swedish roots would love this one.
Cheers, Wayne
