For Late 80's retro there is no better! When scanning Yahoo-Japan auction site I found this Super U "team" bike. Reynolds 753 -too bad its too small for me. Sure would like to paint my titanium Raleigh this way.

The buyer describes the bike as the same type as Fignon rode on 1989 and 1990. Too much Kanji for me to decipher correctly. He mentions its an ecelctiv mix of DuraAce 740, campy record, nisi rims and Sante hubs.

nice. I like. In my opinion, the bicycle was at it's aesthetic peak in the late 1980's.

Indeed, the frame in question does look like the ones used by Fignon's team "Systeme U" in 1989. But in that year Systeme U rode Campy Record components but not Shimano Dura-Ace.

I remember those bikes. Yes Fignon's team was Campy equipped, but I remember that bike.

Very nice.

As the others have said, the overall beauty of a bike has gone south since the late '80's.
