I am looking to swap out a Campy 8 speed Veloce crankset on a mid 90's Trek 5200 with a compact setup. Any issues to be mindful of prior to purchasing components? Such as chain sizing, etc. Any input on cranksets would be welcomed as well.

Considering an FSA alloy compact crankset, but was wondering if an older style chain was required and if so, would it play well the chainrigs or if a newer (narrower) style chain could be installed with no problems. Just trying to the parts order right...
