Same with Millar. gnauss 07-17-2006, 05:52 AM It's just what he does at this time of year. He's really good at dropping out of the Tour. I think he's the favorite to drop out first next year. mohair_chair 07-17-2006, 05:55 AM What is the story with IBAN MAYO??? . He reminds me a lot of Pantani. Some glorious years, then he can't hang with the peloton anymore. And no, I'm not implying anything. botto 07-17-2006, 06:00 AM i probably am implying something, but 2003 was the year that Euskatel's sponsorship option was ending. Kind of explains his and Zubeldia's form in the Tour that year. Still a fan of EE. Gora Gora Gora! carbonite 07-17-2006, 02:28 PM you guys are silly. i remember that '03 tour when he was pacing at like 16mph up that grueling climb that left everyone else for dead, including Lance. i even remember Sherwin or Ligget commenting that he was making it look easy on that climb. things that make you go "Hmmmm". we should commission to Bob Roll to introduce a "Favorite" to abandon first for 'le Tour '07. i think i will go with Mayo. 55x11 07-17-2006, 05:12 PM you guys are silly. i remember that '03 tour when he was pacing at like 16mph up that grueling climb that left everyone else for dead, including Lance. i even remember Sherwin or Ligget commenting that he was making it look easy on that climb. things that make you go "Hmmmm". we should commission to Bob Roll to introduce a "Favorite" to abandon first for 'le Tour '07. i think i will go with Mayo. If you are implying Mayo is doping because he is inconsistent this year, I must object. He was *always* inconsitent. He is consistently inconsistent over the past years. He is probably THE most consistent in his own inconsistency. What you really need to watch out for is riders who are inconsistently inconsistent. Like some years they are consistent and then - boom, they becomes inconsistent. But only for a while, and they are consistent again. In other words - no consistency - not in consistency or inconsistency. That's how you know! Live Steam 07-17-2006, 07:29 PM What is the story with IBAN MAYO??? . He has a penchant for getting dropped in the Pyrenees. No matter if they come before or after the Alps, he abandones there. Well it is closer to home  MikeBiker 07-17-2006, 07:34 PM He has a penchant for getting dropped in the Pyrenees. No matter if they come before or after the Alps, he abandones there. It could be that his mom demands that he return when the tour nears his home! Hello, Mrs. Mayo. Can Iban come out to play? Live Steam 07-17-2006, 07:46 PM Man those Basques must hate him by now - or at least wonder why he has to give such a poor showing in front of them. They come out in droves to see him and he hasn't come through yet. cheddarlove 07-17-2006, 08:54 PM If you are implying Mayo is doping because he is inconsistent this year, I must object. I appreciate the effort you put into this!:p ziggurat22 07-18-2006, 04:44 AM It's a shame because the Basques are such a passionate bunch to say the least, when it comes to cycling. Then you have a guy like Mayo, who has so much talent and has shown flashes of brilliance, but generally shows such a lack of passion and effort, not to mention, he's a guy who, by his own admission, hates pressure. |
