Hello,

I've been riding the Specialized bike in the photo for a couple of years now. When I bought it (used) the dealer taped over the name so as not to entice the local bike thieves (I'm in NYC). As a result, I've forgotten the model name and don't know the year either.

Can anyone ID this from the picture?

Can't you peel off the tape and see? Looks like a Rockhopper or Stumpjumper to me, might want to ask on the MTBR.com Specialized board.

I did peel off the tape but it's been on so long that the glue and threads remain on the bike. I'd have to scrape it off and even then I don't know if the model name will still be readable.

"Rockhopper" does sound familiar though.

I'll try the other board you suggested. Certainly more appropriate!
