Bring clothes and change at work I have a 3 mile commute, and its enough to destroy my just styled hair. I'm cutting it all off in 2 days and people will think I'm a boy, but oh well. I can't see starting my car when I'm only going 1 mile (I ride 3 to avoid the highway). If you get all sticky, then the easiest thing to do is to bring your clothes in a rear rack/back pack, clean up with baby wipes at work and change. Very short hair = no need to style. kokaku 05-23-2004, 08:37 AM Those little quick-drying camping towels are handy - you can wash yourself from a bathroom sink with one of those. What might seem weird or gross to them at first just becomes ordinary after a while. I also lightly spray my shirt with cologne b4 putting it in the back pack. brad nicholson 05-24-2004, 10:20 AM Ride easily, dry off and stop sweating b4 u change your clothes, give your co-workers time to adjust to your behavior. This might sound wierd but, do you have a place to store a "little bucket" (I can't remember the word I was looking for), soap and deodorant at your desk or locker, if you have one. If so, you can fill up the bucket with water, and use a locking bathroom stall like a shower (private bathroom is even better). You can use your water bottles as well. The key is how much time you have to cool down before you have to get dress for work. I learn this in the military. Have a 14 mile commute and work up a good sweat. Before I had a workplace shower, I had a deal with a local health club with the understanding that I just came in to take a shower. I paid a nominal fee. My commute is 17 miles and I can't imagine not showering before work. Other possibilities: Someone else in a nearby workplace that does have a shower. Lobby your boss to create one. Co-worker/friend who lives near the workplace. toomanybikes 06-01-2004, 02:10 PM I shower in the morning before I leave. I take a damp washcloth in a plastic bag with me and mop off at work. I keep deodorant and a brush at my office. mr_e 06-08-2004, 08:58 PM Wusssssss |
