I've got about 6 cycling jersey (Descente, Pearl Izumi, Primal) and they are all club fit with three nice sized pockets in the back. I just went to check out Pearl Izumi's form fit Slice jersey at REI. I really like the fit of the jersey but the three pockets in back are really quite small. I can't imagine trying to pick a gel or something out of it with a gloved hand while on the bike. Do all (REI didn't have any other brand jerseys that were that style) form/pro/euro fit jerseys suffer from this problem???

Also, given the closeness of the jersey to the skin, does it make sense to wear a baselayer with form/euro fit jerseys on hot days??

I have a couple of Santini and Descente pro fit jerseys, and the pockets aren't particularly small--they're big enough to cover the whole back panel of the shirt, just about. I don't know how much bigger they could be. The side ones are usually smaller than the middle one, but they're still big enough to reach into. I don't have any trouble, and I wear full-finger gloves.

Must just be the Pearls.

I have a form fitting bergamo jersey and the pockets are pretty big on it, pretty close to the same size as all my other jerseys.

Also I do wear a base layer under it all the time. Even on 90+ rides

REI is mainly geared to hiking, backpacking, mountain climbing, camping stuff. Not your best source for road racing apparel. However if you want to bike up Shasta or work the Appellation trail, REI is good to go.
