Hi

Has anyone have experience removing logos from anodized parts? I have a set of Shimano dual pivot brakes with the black SHIMANO on the arm- it appears to be painted on-- without scratching or screwing up the anodization, how can I take this off? I just don't like the looks of it. Any help is appreciated- Thanks, Matt

Not sure how you can do this without removing the clear anodise. On my "Athena" brakes I polished, I wound up also removing the 'Campy' logo, which I did not necessarily want to do, but did anyway to get the high polish finish I wanted. I got my high polish finish, but without the 'Campy' logo. It sucked, but.."Oh Well" :D

These were the campy brakes I polished

Thanks for the help- A while ago I did polish up a set of single pivot Dura Ace calipers that had some bad scratches- but since the logo (which looks a whole lot better than the painted on type) was etched into the arm, it worked great- and preserved the logo.

I did not think about a metal polish that is not really abrasive- that may do the trick. It feels like the logo is painted on top of the anodizing- I can feel it when I run my finger across it.
