Random thought: ever notice how similar the yellow jersey is to the ring in "The Lord of the Rings"?

1. There are several jerseys but yellow is above them all.
2. The wearer of the jersey slowly but surely becomes more and more attached to it, to the point of doing anything to hang on to it (My precious!)
3. The jersey can distort the judgement of the wearer (Floyd lets Pereiro go, and vice versa).
4. Some cannot handle the burden of the jersey and are weakened by it (Tom Boonen).
5. Others gain strength from the jersey and become much more powerful than before (Oscar Pereiro).
6. The most successful jersey wearer is the person who realizes it is not theirs to own forever, but to carry it to its final destination (Paris).
