So, if/when Valverde gets sold to Saiz at Liberty Seguros, will he ride the Tour?
While at CV/Kelme, his race schedule was built with him NOT riding the Tour. He is a young rider and too many miles (sorry, Ks) at this age could ruin him for a couple years.
Saiz's style is to ride alot and race alot. Riders have left his team burned out from way too many Ks. Will Saiz stick Valverde in the Tour lineup? Saiz's history says yes.
While I'd love to see him barking with the big dogs in July, I hope for his sake that he is allowed time to mature for the future. In 3 years, he could be a multi-jersey winning in the Tour, and it could be any/all jerseys ala Merckx.
