I'm moving to Chicago late August and will be living right close to The Art Institute of Chicago. I have two bikes, one a fixed gear cyclocross set up, and the other a geared road racing bike. No matter what I'm bringing the fixie. I'm wondering, how rational is it to bring the Cannondale Six13 with the weather of the months september to may? Part of me is beggining to think I should get rid of the six13?

Thanks a lot for the opinion!

Bring the Cannondale. The 4 best months to ride in Chicago are Sep, Oct, April and May.

That fixed gear cross rig would look great on the Des Plaines River trail. The DPR is a little west of you, and runs the full 45 miles north to the Wisconsin border. Dirt and gravel. Shaded and nice.
