I've been reading through the forum as most of you probably have as well and a question came to my mind that I have not seen mentioned. If Landis had a normal level of testosterone but is accused of taking synthetic testosterone, why is his level not elevated? I understand there is a range of "normal" and maybe this is the case and that the synthetic maybe brought him up to high "normal". I do understand his T/E ratio is the problem, maybe there is a reason his E is low and that is where they should be looking.

One poster in another thread also mentioned that maybe Landis blood doped with blood that had testosterone in it, this would possibly explain his superhuman effort where testosterone in itself would not do him much good if taken once.

I am however hoping this all works out in Floyd's favor.

the body has a number of feedback mechanisms, i.e., if you add steroid then the body stops making it's own steroid... not sure if this is the case for T/E, but it is the case for cortisol/cortisone/other corticosteroids

The 'level' argument is a little bit of a red herring, in my opinion. There are a lot of things that can effect that - such as drinking lots and lots of water, whether it was taken as part of a continuing program or only a one-time use, the amount of time between taking the last dose and the test, and so on.

Based on the information and we have and the tests that were performed, the 'level' isn't terribly meaningful.

There are drugs to mask the other drugs.

That's true, I didn't consider the body stopping production once the synthetic was introduced. Good point.
