Are you an IBEX X-Ray owner? How about an IBEX owner period? I want to know your thoughts about the company and bike you ride.

Also, where do you live? I would REALLY like to see one up close and personal before I slap down the money for one.

I've looked through a few other previous threads and I feel like the general consensus is stay away from IBEX because it's mail order and looks like a crap brand.

Thanks for all the help guys/gals!

An X-Ray Sport for me, and a Corrida for my wife. We've only had them for about a week, but I've already put more than 50 miles on it. It's a good deal, and Ibex is nice to deal with. Be prepared to take it in to the local shop, or do some tuning yourself. But assembly is not as difficult as I feared. I haven't ever put a bike together, but I assembled both of ours in about an hour.

I am happy with mine, a mountain bike. You are risking the fit by buying mail order, but other than that, there is nothing to fear.

mynamesrob= How about an IBEX owner period?
Hi everybody,
I'm new to RBR and at the present ride an 05' IBEX Alpine 350. Its not in any way factory stock.
The only part left from IBEX is the frame, so on that note I'll say the frame is strong, yet agile.
Very responsive in fast XC dual and single track.

I've inclosed a PIC with build specs. I must confess to being a Clyde and by so doing should exsplain
some of my choices in componets.

mynamesrob=I want to know your thoughts about the company and bike you ride
IBEX is good company to deal with IMO. I've had the opportunity to speak to the owner on matters regarding their
07' Trophy Pro frameset.
I'll say that Jack was very helpfull and by the end of our conversation I decided to place my order.

mynamesrob= the general consensus is stay away from IBEX because it's mail order and looks like a crap brand.
In any public forum your going find guns in both directions.
You should also note that most happy camper are out ridin' and having fun. I'm to OLD for fun.

Please forgive spelling.
So on that note I'll close.:cornut::D

I have an X-ray Race, I will post some hi-res pics this weekend. I am very impressed with it. With pedals seatbag and bottle cages it weighs in at 20-22 pounds (bathroom scales). I am planning on buying another for my wife when they get some of the Race's in stock.

What makes Ibex look like a crap brand?

I don't think it looks like a crap brand. I said that was the general consensus from other non-Ibex owners I have asked. That's why I started this thread.

Thanks for your input Taco!

I have an X-Ray Race...and it's a fantastic bike. Ibex is certainly not a crap brand! ...in fact, the quality of the bike was better than I had expected when I pulled it out of the box! They obviously are riders and they really listen to their customers...just look at the fact that they are one of the few companies that actually offer good quality mountain and road bikes for kids.

I live in Raleigh, NC...if you happen to live in that area, you are free to check out my X-Ray. The bike is very versatile...some nagging injuries have prevented me from racing it yet, but it's held up to 45 mile round trip commutes, countless training rides on gravel / dirt fire roads, even one short foray onto singletrack! My wife even raced it in her first triathlon (she and I are the same height) and the bike performed great even though she rode in a pouring rainstorm...the slightly more relaxed geometry and fatter tires than traditional road bikes made it very stable, even on slippery roads.
