Hi!
I've had two pairs of Pearl Izumi shorts. One I've had since Christmas; the other, June 3. Lately, I've been getting the imprint of the chamois on my backside. The older pair just started doing it in the last few weeks. The newer pair always seems to be the same spot. This doesn't happen with my other shorts.
I've had them too long to return them, and they fit great otherwise. Any thoughts as to what to do? Anyone else encounter this?
thanks,
Charles

Pearl Attack shorts . They fit great and are very comfortable butt :p they leave a slight rash sort of mark along the outline of the chamois.Bummer

I have had this happen also with the 3D Race chamois. It actually gave me a cut on the second ride. After 5 or 6 washings this went away and now I can wear them on a two hour ride but not more.
The 3D Pro chamios I love, now markings or rash anywhere

How are you washing/drying it? I was wondering this morning if that might not be my issue.
Has anyone presented this to Pearl Izumi? I have their tights and gloves, and love their stuff. The shorts have just proven to be such a disappointing pain in the...

I am not a fan of newer PI shorts for the reason your cite. Their chamois have all this gimmicky multi-density, multi-shape crap but they leave a thick edge where the chamois meets the short. For me this is like a serrated knive on a long ride. For some folks this is not an issue - I guess they have tougher skin. You can mitigate this somewhat with a thick chamois cream. Try to find some shorts that minimize the interface between chamois and short. Shorts with thinner less techno pads are a good bet. Shorts that uses thinner less abrasive thread can also help
