View Full Version : Talking Point of the Week... "It's The Liberal Media, stupid"
spyderman 09-01-2006, 02:30 PM Just because this admin doesn't like what they see in the news, they knee-jerk attack it with "It's the Liberal Media..." propaganda.
Don't like the news about the civil war in Iraq, it's the Liberal Media's fault not ours.
Don't like the news about Abu Ghraib, it's the Liberal Media's fault for covering it.
Don't like the news about Katrina, it's the Liberal Media's fault we let 1,500 American citizens die.
Wow, this one trick pony is really pathetic! For once, I'd like to see someone in the Bush Admin resign over their incompetence.
Keith Obermann really ripped into you guys the other day. Every word he spoke was the truth and not motivated by any Liberal Media conspiracy. It's just sad that come Nov 8th, you guys will be trying to firgure out how to avoid having Bush impeached...
Mark my words.
filtersweep 09-01-2006, 03:30 PM Liberal media? Funny how the administration must have loved the Ramsey case resurfacing recently. I truly liberal media would have ignored it completely and focused on some real news that was actually occurring.... like a war in Lebanon, for example.

They can't cancel it so they just won't mention it.

Yeah, you never hear anything about Christmas... Jeeshh..
Unfortunately, that's how the game is played, and will be played for awhile. Say something in the media that the republicans running the country don't like, all of a sudden it's a mass liberal media conspiracy. I notice they didn't have any bad words for the media in 2000 when the were reporting glowing stories about W and bad mouthing Gore for months on end. I notice they didn't mention anything about liberal media when they were printing story after story (much of them later disproved) about Bill and Hillary. Hell, Bush and co. didn't start getting on the liberal media train until about a year ago when they finally started asking some real questions and demanding answers, and then calling him out on his BS time and again. Truth hurts sometimes, the truth hurts.
I'll put this caveat out there as well. Say in 08, some democrat gets into the White House. Sure he/she will have an easy time of it with the media for a little while, but sooner or later (probably sooner), the harshness will begin anew. See, this is what happens when you're the folks in charge. Unfortunately the buck stops with you, and if you can't handle the criticisms, maybe you shouldn't be running things. Right?
There is no silly liberal media. It just depends who is running the country at the time.

Poor Druids, they only get high 8 days a year?

Don't make fun of the druids. Ritualized fertility rites are a lot better celebration than ritualized cannibalism.

and we all know hollyberries and kissing under the misteltoe are just a remnants of pagan Soltice orgies.
ya ever wonder what would have happened if Pagans (Vikings, Druids, whatever) had colonized the new world? My guess is far better relations with the dirt worshippers who were already here.

'Scuse me, but wasn't viking a term for raiding and pillaging rather than an actual race? Were they known for their gentle nature in Europe where they actually plied their trade and colonized areas?

but was good king Charlemagne known for his kindly Christian ways? everybody was a bloody killer
I'm saying that when Pagans meet other Pagans it is more likely they won't loook upon the others as 'savages' and thus deserving of their conquest. Vikings settled in the NE in the new world and ya just don't hear about as many conflicts as you do say the Spanish or Americans.

Well, they better not try it today.
