I came across a deal for the Specialized for $450 for the wheelset and can't seem to find much information on them.

All I know is that they were the predessessor of the HED 3 wheels.

Are their weight, reliability/construction, and number of cassette size differences?

Hed bought the molds/etc. from Specialized. Should theoretically be the same wheels. I DO know that Specialized made two weights of those wheels.

Very aero. Sorta heavy. Non-truable. Work great for TTs, etc. but wouldn't really be the wheels I'd pick for a crit.

I also don't remember if Specialized made cassette versions. They probably did. If so, its probably S8/9/10 compatible. Double check me on this. I paid attention, but not that much...

Yep, HED and Specialized made cassette hubs for those wheels. I have a riding buddy that uses them in triathlons.

the only differences I was able to find was a bit of weight...I haven't really noticed appreciable time loss with a trispoke over a spoked front wheel...but then again there are too many variables there to compare. it definitely didn't slow me down though...
