So I love my F4:13 but am thinking that the DUEL wheels have to go. Been looking at the Mavic Ksyrium ES and the cosmic carbone SL - any friendly recommendations out there?

Also considering the Campy Neutrons or Eurus - looking for speed and durability (and wouldn't mind cutting a bit of the harshness out of the ride....)

The DUEL have quite good hubs, but Iīdont like them, too.

Campa Eurus or Zonda in black!
I bought the Zondas.

What do you think of the neutron's instead? Or Mavics SL or ES?

I didnīt go for the Mavic, as I prefer Italian components on my Pinarello. But this is only a question of your own personal philosophy. Without any doubts, the ES are very good. If you like this style, why donīt you take Fulcrum racing 1?

The Eurus or Zonda are multi-purpose. The Neutrons are more suitable for climbing. In that case I would go for the Hyperon tubular.

I have the F4:13, all black, went with the silver Eurus. So far so good. Great all-around wheel, very sturdy. You get the Record Hubs with the Eurus vs. Zonda. I think you can get a good deal on the 2006 models now, I don't expect them to update the wheel anytime soon, they just redesigned it last year.

Good Luck!

I like the ES, but I'm biased as my F4:13 has them.

They spin oh so smoothly, silently and are quite light. Have had Mavic Ksyriums in the past and they have been bombproof.

I changed over to the ES' at the beginning of the year on my F4:13.

A great wheelset and i still chose them despite my blue paintwork. I think they are better for a heavier rider on this frameset - I have no harshness and have been very happy with them.

cheers

I'm not sure why Campy markets the Neutrons as climbing wheels as they aren't really that that light. They're not a delicate wheel either. I suppose they call them climbing wheels just because of the low profile.

I have two sets that have taken some big hits without any issue. I have a friend that's 215 lbs and for the last several years has been riding them as an every day wheel. I would highly recommend the Neutrons. Here's a killer deal for you.... http://www.11speed.com/catalogo/dettagli_prodotto.asp?prod_id=58

hi,
nice set up, looks real sharp... i was wondering how comfortable the bike was with your build-up? ok for centuries? not too harsh? i'm considering the f4:13 with those wheels any imput would help buy this bike or the new orbea orca or pegoretti marchelo.

thanks

It is quite comfortable and very smooth over the road. Much more so than the Onyx and on par with the Orca. For me it just looked much better than the Orca with its curved fork and stays. Plus I got it for a deal - same as an Orca with Ultegra and its full DA.

I've had it out to 60 mile rides with no comfort issues. I do have the bars up a little - there are 3 spacers in there - my wrists some times bug me on long rides and with the bars up slightly it is comfortable. If I'm going further than 50-60 miles (and its not super hilly) I take the Aero.
