How much is an old kestrel worth (from 1990s)? I want to buy and sell one with a few scratches.

That's not nearly enough information to answer your question.

Are you talking about frame only? Do you know which frame? Or if it is a fully built bike, how is it spec'd out?

My question is, how much should I deduct on the selling price after accounting for age if there's scratches but no dents.

Do you have any idea what year or at least the dropout width so folks can be sure that they can even build it up with 9 or 10 speed stuff?

I'd think something from the early 90s wouldn't be worth much at all.

There is another thread running -- http://forums.roadbikereview.com/showthread.php?t=72917 -- where the guy asked whether he paid a fair price for a 1989 Kestrel 200. He paid about $500 for the complete bike with good (although old) parts and apperently very little use. The people responding seemed to think the price was OK -- not a great deal but not a ripoff either. That might give you an idea of the value of the frame alone.

this bike I have is currently running with 9 speed. but I took off all the parts.
Should I sell it with all the parts?

What do you mean "buy and sell one?"

You're going to try to buy it, and sell it for a profit? I'm confused.

You don't need to sell it with all the parts, but the year will really matter to buyers. Carbon changed a lot throughout the 1990s. Dunno, this one's a little out of my field but I can't see it being worth more than $200.

There are 3, 200sci Kestrel, on ebay for between $300-$700 with no bids

So frame/fork alone, I couldn't see going for more than a couple hundred bucks.

why no bids? there are used steel frames selling for higher prices.

Apples and oranges. People buy used steel frames for lots of reasons ranging from history to aesthetics to the maker to building up a fixie to ... I don't think the market for older used carbon is really the same thing.

I don't understand the "why no bids" reference. Do you have your frame listed for sale somewhere?

I havent ridden new carbon but I think kestrel would be a better value, dont you think?
