Fanini, head of Amore & Vita - Mcdonalds, and outspoken anti-drug crusader yesterday continued his mission to make everyone in cycling hate him by blasting cycling, the Vuelta and even Valverde in a statement expressing his outrage over the Vino and Kash missed drug controls and their being allowed to continue in the race.
On the nicely timed bus ride -
"Convenient for them [vino and kash], but devastating for the image of cycling"
On Valverde's total silence on the matter -
"The impression that emerges is one of tacit connivance. An atmosphere of complete, reciprocal complicity...Today to you, tomorrow to me.."
He concluded that despite the Vuelta's T-shirt slogan anti drug propaganda, once again cycling's credibility is reduced to zero.
