ok so heres the thing, im in high school cross country right now and my season will be over in the first week of november. I wanted to know how much time if any i need to take off before i start my base for the racing season and after ive started what i should be doing for the first coupla of months mileage wise.

i would take the rest of nov. off. I'm kinda riding up till the start/middle october, then about 2 weeks in nov. off, then starting base. LSD=long slow distance. in terms of milage, it depends on where you wanna peak during the season. but generally i would do base till early-mid january. in the meantime, I'm doing yoga and core strengthening. btw, i'm in HS too.

Cross country what?

If you are running and plan on cycling, start base work after a 1 week transition after your end of 'cross country' (skiing?) season. Start slow, work on technical things first.

Uh, the reference to High School suggests USA, and last time I checked, the ski season does not end in October. Standard reference to "cross country" and "high school" in the US means running. :)

yea cross country running. I was just curios because i know im supposed to take like 3 weeks off bewteen two running seasons but since cycling exercises the muscles ina different way if i still needed to take that much time off.
