OK I am looking for help in my commute, I have read all the posts and was further inspired by rt post on the general board but I have a few questions and/or concerns.

I live south of Boston and my commute will be into the south end(by the flower exchange) for those of you who know the area. About 15 miles one way, not at all bad but it is through some tough sections of the city(shootings, drugs), I have pretty much mapped out my route and for the most part I am comfortable with it. So the problems come when I get into work, no showers at all, no health clubs in the area that I want to join only for the use of a shower 2-3 times a week. So does the baby wipe treatment really work if you pre-shower ? How do people deal with tougher sections of their commute ? I was going to use egg beaters and some cheap nashbar mountain bike shoes for pedals instead of my usual time pedals. Should I just get off my fat a$$ and start doing it or is there anything else that I am missing ?

my commute is 25 miles one way. i just did my second commute today. the first was about 3 weeks ago. the weather here has been very cold and rainy, and today was the first somewhat nice day.

my first time i drove in the first day and rode home. the next day i rode in and drove home. today i will be riding back home.

my place has no showers either. i do pre-shower, including doing the hair gel thing. when i get to work 90 minutes later, i lock up my bike, come in and check my email and calendar, then its off to the secret handicap bathroom nobody knows about. it has the LARGEST stall i have ever seen. i peel my shirt(s) off, wipe down with paper towels, then bird bath. i take a camp towel and dry that off, then go to town with Wet Ones. I tried cheap baby wipes and they smelled like finger paint. i stand there a few seconds to make sure i truly have stopped sweating, then deoderant up and dress. my work FINALLY went to business casual fridays last week, so dressing is much easier. i get back to my cube, drink lots of water, eat a clif bar, then redo my hair.

make sure you wash you face, neck, and dry your back and pits as good as you can!

my trouble spots arent gang related, just highway traffic, and thats mostly on the way home.

the only other trouble spot, is water. the first time i didnt consume enough and got headaches. i was glad i had my car to drive home. this time i drank too much water and feel like a freshman at his first kegger. i am urinating ALL DAY. i might just invest in a stadium pal next week...
anybody else have trouble with too much "excess urination?"
