It's offical, as an airline empIoyee, I, once again, am allowed to bring bathing items to work at the airport. It's a good thing too, my large bathing stash of 50/50 rubbing alochol and water mixture was dangerously low, as was my deoderant. I was begining to wonder how I was going to bath next week. It looks like my habit of having several months supply of basic toiletries stashed at work was a good idea. I also am no longer required to empty my water bottle before heading through the secured area to my office. I can take my usual V8 to work with me if I want, instead of having to finish it in the parking lot just after my ride in.
Life is good.

Hooray to that! I guess I didn't realize that the crazy liquids ban would affect airport employees as well as people actually on the planes...

The people working outside had it the worst, they were no longer allowed to bring water with them when working the aircraft. Working inside the cargo bins of an aircraft during the summer is like riding rollers in a closet with no fan or a/c (That's why it appears that they all load the aircraft real slowly when watched from a window at the gate, they don't want to kill the person inside the cargo bin). For a while this summer I was worried some our people working on the ramp in 100 degrees and 98% humidity might get seriously dehydrated and/or have a heat stroke. That would have been a real shame. We were able to rotate the emploees on water breaks, and that prevented any problems, but they are much more likely to stay properly hydrated if they have their water with them. Our people also do a very good job of watching out for each other.
