Today is the start of my fall break so I figured it would be a great day to cruise and get some pictures of all the cool places I like to ride (plus I "borrowed" my parents digicam so I finally could take pictures).

Good illustration of the reason I do about 80% of my riding on 'crossers--when I "need" to jump off the pavement to see what's down that beckoning path, around the bend and over the hill, I don't have to worry if the bike can take it. I love my 'crossers....
Thanx fer posting!

If you don't get your bike dirty look how much you miss.
For that very reason, I almost hate seeing pictures of shiny, pristine bikes...almost.
FWIW, our group had a rep from the Bike Fed of Wisconsin the other night. She gave figures something like the following:
80% of all bikes in the US are ridden 20 miles or less per year.
80% of the remainder are ridden less than 100 miles per year.
80% of the remainder of THAT are ridden less than 200 miles per year.
So...0.2*0.2*0.2= 0.008. That's 0.8%, the proportion of bikes that get get ridden more than 200 miles/year.
Love your bike. Get it dirty.

Thanks for all the kind words.
That statistic is crazy, the cross bike is by far my favorite bike. She has seen snowy muddy cross races, all of my road training miles, a handful of road races and more coffee runs than will ever be necessary.
Ridgetop, thanks for the compliment on my helmet. I think more people remember me because of my helmet than anything else. It was a freebie off of a SOBE-Cannondale team racer back in the day, I cracked mine and he gave it to me the next day (gotta love people who have sympathy for junior racers). Alas, I have a new Pneumo on the way and the lizard helmet will be retired after 6 years of service.

FWIW, 76% of all statistics are just made up on the spot.
