so im sittin here reading dopey stuff about cycling, the tour de georgia, tour of california, and the new-in-2007 tour of missouri (yeah. of missouri). i tried to think of places they would race if there were a giro d'illinois. not many places. would have better luck in wisconsin.

then it hit me: if chicago gets the olympics, the pro tour's brightest will be here! but where will they race? would they do a downtown circuit (imagine tryin to race across those metal mesh bridges)? ride up the lakefront? maybe ride in indiana or wisconsin? would they mtb kettle morraine? would they build a new venue for track or would they try to use the outdoor velodrome in northbrook? possibly use kenosha, the oldest velodrome in the us?

guess its a slow morning...

I don't know about the road race, but the olympic city plans had a velodrome on Northerly Island. How cool is that!

Really? That's great. I thought they might spiff up Northbrook, but a drome on Northerly Island would be sweet.

I know Palos was the proposed mtb racing site.
