When I'm on long rides I like to look around a lot and observe the world around me. Often I see a theme developing for a ride, and in order to call it a Ride Of The... I like three independent sightings of the same theme. This year I've had three especially memorable rides.

1) The Ride Of The Pizza Crust. I saw three partially masticated pizza crusts on the shoulder. It was a 60mi loop ride and the amazing thing is that the crusts were all on different roads and many miles apart.

2) The Ride Of The Bald Eagles. Simply awesome to see bald eagles perched in trees or flying low over fields. They're HUGE, and sometimes in pairs.

3) The Ride Of The Pooping Horses. 'Nuff said.

Anyone have similar experiences?

The Ride of the Bad Chipseal

The Ride of the Dead Squirrels

The Ride of the People with Their Helmet on Backwards - I see this one at least once a week in the riding season

. . . snakes. On my ~5 mile commute to campus, one morning I saw 3 dead and flattened snakes on busy roads.
