Been lurking around and reading posts. I have a Carl Strong Ti in the building process and am looking to "stay custom" and have custom wheels built. I Weigh 175, recreational, century rider, enjoy climbing.
I am not too worried about the cosmetics, in fact prefer them plain.
I have also visited many sites including those by William and Speeddream, but Garcia and Gravy seem to "catch my interest" the most.
I am not wise in the world of wheel building so I need to rely on the builder to craft what I need.
Any one who can comment, thanks, experience after the sale? (Hopefully I mount them and need no help at all after the purchase)
Carl mentioned Ascent II and American Classic for prebuilt.
Thanks

Why not try Ligero (http://www.ligerowheels.com/) or Ergott (http://www.ergottwheels.com/). There are quite a few, 'round these parts, riding their wheels. As a bonus, both Troy and Eric frequent and post here at RBR.

You can also PM them. Troy's screen name is Ligero, and Eric's is Ergott.

I ordered some wheels from Mike Garcia at oddsandendos.com the friday before interbike. They arrived the following Monday for $471 shipped. Wheel weight was 1438 for the pair without rim tape. I got speedcific serenity hubs with niobium 30 rims and DT revolution spokes rear with Sapim laser front spokes. The wheels were professionally packaged with extra spokes and skewers inluded. Ritchey rim tape was already installed. They were perfectly round and laterally, perfectly true.
The wheels are great; I highly recommend buying from him.

edit: The rear spokes were wheelsmith equivalents of DT revolution. Wheelsmith is the brand they carry and sapims were used I assume because they did not have the length needed in wheelsmith.

I recently got some from Mike Garcia and have been very pleased. Friend bought some from Williams and likes his so far. I think custom is a great, cheaper option than most lower end production models. May not exactly be zipp 404s however.
